We're back in Colorado, finally! In a desperate bid to escape Phoenix, we moved to Colorado in the middle of winter, and boy what an introduction we got. Temperatures in the -10 degree range. We don't have internet at our new place yet, it's been difficult to find a provider way out in the country, so the blog may be quiet for a bit. We will post pictures when we get internet.
Our new place is about 18 miles outside of the Durango, just north of Breen. We'll be able to have chickens and a large garden!
Logan got a great job (within a day!) working at a dealership and is really happy.
Kade is loving his new school, it's a small school, and very personal. He has a great teacher and new friends. He gets to take the bus right from the top of the driveway, and has friends right across the road. He seems to be settling in to the new routine quite well.
More to come.....

BAHS!!
"Get out of bed!!! Honey, Get out of bed!!!!"
It's about 10 pm and I wake to Logan's panicked hollers. I slowly role out of bed.
"There's something in the bed! I swear! There is something in the bed! It crawled up my side, it's 'this big! No seriously!"
We begin to look, and as the search continues, I begin to doubt the validity of the claim. Finally, I lift a pillow off the floor and see something large scuttle away. I'm awake now, but the bug is gone.
We begin searching anew. Finally, I look at the curtains and scream like a little girl.....
Anyway, after a night of sleeplessness and creepy crawlies, we got up and went to George Town for another look around. Then we headed to the beach for some snorkling fun. Not that many fish, a couple of needle fish and a turtle. The water was a bit cold :p, but we really can't complain. We begin the long journey home tomorrow.

This dude is about 4.5 inches across.
Luckily Logan is not as big of a wimp as I am, and did not stand in the doorway whimpering with me. Logan managed to get him into the biggest pot we could find. Turns out it's what's known as a "ground spider" here. As far as we can tell it's the same thing as a cane spider. They're scary looking, but completely harmless.Anyway, after a night of sleeplessness and creepy crawlies, we got up and went to George Town for another look around. Flustery Blustery and Still Beautiful
Its amazing how much you marvel at the weather when you don't get a change in it for a year. For the last couple of days the winds have been flitting about and the sky has been gray. Do we mind !? Nay we say !!
We've been taking it pretty easy what with the weather not being terribly conducive to swimming. Instead we're watching the trees blow around, and trying to avoid doing the Electric Slide every time we touch our shorted-out stove. We have plans for later in the week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for better weather.
We'll have to just go sit on the beach and wait for the turtles to come to us.
Blisters and sand flea bites. Some may call them annoying .. i call em battle wounds !

I saved a crab today, what did you do with your day?
I got put in charge of the post for today, which is never a good idear...so har she goes.....Today we took the long walk to George Town. It was a pretty active day compared to yesterday where we made it only as far as the nearest beer joint. There we met a friendly dude and his son also escaping the bitter cold of the Rocky Mountains via Wyoming. Standing upon the beach a lovely little turtle popped his head up from the oh so light surf and caught Logan's oh so acutely trained eyes! While speaking to a woman we obtained insider info of a sting ray perusing the beach, which it just so happened we caught a glimpse and still photo of !
We saw some amazing local crafts on our adventures today, and BooBoo got some pretty impressive flippum blisters. It is defiantly interesting walking along roads when everyone is traveling at all, and i mean all speeds, and at time only having inches to spare. Booboo in her facination picked up our little hitch hiker and gave hime a ride to the beach, we called him "crabby " ; D even though he was a sweet little fellow. All in all a fantastic day ! To my loving Bertnee and Dane i hope you had a beautiful birthday ! Much love to all ! The pictures that follow are in some what chronological order :)

We Made It!
In an effort to compromise and keep our friends and families informed of our adventures, while still avoiding facebook! : D we created this blog. We got a new camera just before leaving so that we can take underwater photos, so expect lots of pictures!
We finally arrived at our cabin on the Exumas yesterday about 10am, a mere 18 hours late. It was a bit of a struggle to get here, involving more than a few misadventures. But between delayed flights and missing connections, we managed to have quite a bit of fun sitting in the Orlando airport. Be warned, the Orlando airport is freezing!
Our cabin and the people here have made it more than worth it. It's about 75 degrees and partly cloudy with a cool sea breeze. The cabin is just perfect for us, with a small kitchen and plenty of outside sitting space. The landlady is very knowledgeable and incredibly sweet. She's been here for 50 years, came from Britain, and never left. Can't say I blame her!
There's a cute little market just down the road, and an amazing fish fry next to the beach. The water is clear blue, and the beaches are soft white sand. We have yet to go snorkeling, still recovering from the 2 days of travel, but we'll keep you updated on the fish we see.
Much love to all!
Hope you are all staying warm. Merry Christmas!
